Concentrating in White Collar/Criminal Defense
Peter M. Jones was admitted to the practice of law in the state of California in 1982. His practice areas include criminal defense, white-collar criminal defense and civil litigation.
Mr. Jones was a Chief Defense Attorney with the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office, where he was employed for over 25 years, before leaving to enter into private practice. He brings to the firm extensive trial experience involving the defense of some of the most publicized criminal cases in Fresno County history, including: People v. Dana Ewell, People v. Marcus Wesson, People v. Ramadan Abdullah along with a number of other high-profile trials.
Professional Associations: Mr. Jones is admitted to practice law in the state of California and in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California. He is a member of CACJ, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice; and a member of the Capital Case Panels for Fresno and Merced Counties.
Mr. Jones is a contributor to the Judicial Council of California Criminal Jury Instructions (CALCRIM). Over the course of his career he has been a guest speaker and presenter at various service clubs and local Bench Bar and Media events; and has conducted Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) courses for attorneys on a wide range of topics in criminal law.
Mr. Jones has consistently volunteered as a guest speaker on criminal law and procedure at various local high schools, and California State University, Fresno since 1986.
