Ms. DeVaney brings a wealth of experience in advising and representing clients across various industries, including agriculture, real estate, financial services, health care, manufacturing, and entertainment. She is dedicated to providing practical and effective solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by each client. Before joining Wanger Jones Helsley PC, Ms. DeVaney spent nearly thirty years as a litigator at several prestigious national and international law firms in Southern California.
In addition to litigating complex cases across many different industries, Ms. DeVaney has been a principal lawyer in several landmark municipal insolvency cases. She has guided clients successfully in all stages of bankruptcy cases through plan confirmation. Ms. DeVaney excels in representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and other stakeholders in complex bankruptcy litigation.
Ms. DeVaney graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. During law school, she distinguished herself as a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society, the Dean’s Honor List, and on the Scott Moot Court Honors Board. She gained valuable experience as a judicial extern for the Honorable Calvin K. Ashland, the former Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California and the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. DeVaney graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. Ms. DeVaney gives back to the community by volunteering at the Poverello House.
