Ms. Balch joined Wanger Jones Helsley in July 2011, and has experience representing clients in a wide range of commercial and business litigation, including but not limited to, contract and lease disputes, real estate litigation and residential construction defect concerns. Ms. Balch also has experience representing creditors and employers in state and federal courts. Prior to joining Wanger Jones Helsley, Ms. Balch worked for McCormick Barstow’s litigation practice group from September 2008 thru June 2011, litigating and advocating in a variety of civil actions ranging from employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation to construction defect litigation, commercial litigation and contract litigation, as well as insurance defense.

Ms. Hebesha joined Wanger Jones Helsley PC in April, 2018, as Of Counsel. She became a Shareholder in the firm in January, 2020. Ms. Hebesha is a Clovis native. She attended the University of Idaho, earning her undergraduate degree in Political Science and then her Juris Doctor in 2004. Thereafter, Ms. Hebesha returned to Fresno to practice law eventually becoming a Shareholder at the law firm of Kimble, MacMichael & Upton in 2010, and a principal in Tucker Chiu Hebesha Seymour PC Firm in 2011. Ms. Hebesha focuses her practice on business and civil litigation and family law. Ms. Hebesha is an essential member of the firm’s litigation group and has represented clients in a wide array of civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts at the trial level. Ms. Hebesha’s litigation experience includes, but is not limited to, employment litigation, eminent domain, construction litigation, personal injury, and family law. Ms. Hebesha also has extensive experience in both court-sponsored and private mediations and arbitrations.
Mr. Jones was admitted to the practice of law in the state of California in 1982. His practice areas include criminal defense, white-collar criminal defense and civil litigation in all state and federal courts. Mr. Jones was a Chief Defense Attorney with the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office, where he was employed for over 25 years, before leaving to enter into private practice.
Mr. Pape is an Of Counsel at the Firm. Mr. Pape was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and comes from a cattle and agri-business upbringing.
Mr. Pape has practiced law for 39 years. He has extensive legal experience in tax law, the formation, operation, and taxation of businesses, real property transactions, trust and probate litigation, and estate planning. He has also successfully handled a wide range of business litigation matters, which has enhanced his ability to counsel his business clients.
Ms. Boyett’s practice focuses on Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Probate and Conservatorships, and Business and Real Estate transactions. She has represented clients throughout the State of California in matters dealing with decedent’s estates and conservatorship estates. Additionally, she assists business owners and principals with corporate formation matters and business structuring, including both for-profit and non-profit entities. Ms. Boyett has a keen interest in the legal needs and planning opportunities of the generation born between 1946 to 1964. From estate planning, asset protection andwealth transfer planning to business succession and long-term health care considerations, Ms. Boyett particularly enjoys assisting “boomers” who are concerned with caring for their own parents as well as their children and grandchildren.
Ms. Boyett is a frequent speaker on the benefits of estate planning and wealth preservation and transfer. She has also been a guest speaker for entrepreneurship classes, addressing business formation andoperations. Ms. Boyett has served on the boards and in leadership positions of several nonprofit and church organizations. She is a Past President of the Fresno Advertising Federation, Past President of the Fresno Sunrise Rotary Club, Past Board Member of the Fresno County Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Past Board Member of Pregnancy Care Center, and a Past Board Member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
Ms. Boyett began her legal career at Kahn, Soares & Conway, LLP, in Hanford, California. Prior tojoining Wanger Jones Helsley PC in 2019, Ms. Boyett was with Walter Wilhelm Law Group where she practiced for nearly 15 years.
Mr. Vote joined Wanger Jones Helsley PC in September 2015. His practice includes representing clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including residential construction defect, contract disputes, real estate, and trust and probate litigation. He also represents creditors in both state and federal courts, as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Vote served as a law clerk for the Solano County Public Defender and Wanger Jones Helsley PC.
Mr. Cardella’s practice focuses on environmental law, land use law, water law, and public agency law. He has demonstrated expertise in litigation, counseling, and regulatory defense. He regularly litigates civil cases and appeals in state and federal court involving complex environmental, land use, regulatory, and civil rights issues, with particular emphasis on writ proceedings against state and local agencies. He has substantial experience advising local agencies and municipalities on matters of governance, ethics, and policy, and regularly appears before decision-making bodies as an advocate. He also has significant experience prosecuting and defending regulatory enforcement proceedings under a broad range of environmental laws.
Giulio Sanchez joined Wanger Jones Helsley as an associate in 2017. His practice focuses on business and employment litigation.
Mr. Sanchez earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2017, where he served as Executive Submissions Editor of the Review of Law and Social Justice and Vice President of the Latino Law Student Association. He also served as judicial extern to the Honorable Christina A. Snyder of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Sanchez received a B.A. in political science, magna cum laude, with minors in history and criminal justice from California State University, Los Angeles in 2014. Mr. Sanchez is fluent in Spanish.
Ms. DeVaney has advised and represented clients in litigation matters in a range of industries, including agriculture, real estate, financial services, health care, manufacturing and entertainment. She has been a principal lawyer in several precedent-setting municipal insolvency cases culminating in the successful confirmation of plans of adjustment. She has represented and guided debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and other parties through complex bankruptcy litigation. With over three decades of experience, Ms. DeVaney focuses on practical and effective solutions to the challenges clients face. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. DeVaney spent most of her career practicing law in Southern California for several national and international law firms.
Ethan Mora joined Wanger Jones Helsley as Of Counsel in 2024. His practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular emphasis in cybersecurity, privacy, fraud, breach of contract, and consumer protection-related claims. Mr. Mora serves clients across a wide range of sectors, including e-commerce, fintech, blockchain, digital media, healthcare, and agriculture. Since joining Wanger Jones Helsley PC, Mr. Mora has been growing the transactional and corporate side of his practice, serving as a trusted legal advisor and providing sound guidance and counsel for clients in e-commerce and real estate, drafting and advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and various other online and internal policies and issues for both for-profit and non-profit companies.
