Effective January 1, 2026, Wanger Jones Helsley PC is pleased to announce that Ben West and Hunter Castro have been named Partners of the firm.

Benjamin C. West joined Wanger Jones Helsley as an associate in 2018. His practice focuses primarily on representing businesses and individuals in all areas of commercial, real estate, and management-side employment litigation. Mr. West received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he served as Executive Notes Editor for the Hastings Law Journal and competed as a member of the moot court team. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William H. Orrick of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the Honorable Erica P. Grosjean of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. Mr. West earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Criminology, Law and Society, from the University of California, Irvine in 2013.

Hunter C. Castro joined Wanger Jones Helsley as an associate in 2018. His practice focuses primarily on land use, municipal law, regulatory compliance, and environmental law. Mr. Castro regularly litigates complex land use, regulatory, environmental, and civil rights matters on behalf of both public and private entities. He also counsels and trains public agencies and their employees on governance, policy, and ethics issues. Prior to concentrating on these practice areas, Mr. Castro represented businesses and individuals in employment, labor, and commercial litigation. Mr. Castro received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. During law school, he worked in-house at a technology startup, where he supported day-to-day legal operations and developed internal compliance tools addressing national and international advertising, laboratory testing, and point-of-sale regulations. He later served as a law clerk for Wanger Jones Helsley prior to joining the firm as an associate.
