For the 7thyear in a row, Wanger Jones Helsley PC sponsored La Feliz Guild’s annual Derby Down fundraiser for Valley Children’s Hospital, and 20 attorneys and their spouses and significant others participated in a day of Kentucky Derby themed fun.
Valley Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit, state-of-the-art children’s hospital with a medical staff of more than 550 physicians. It is one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the nation. It is the first children’s hospital west of the Rockies to receive Magnet Nursing designation, the highest nursing benchmark in the world, and is one of fewer than 10 pediatric intensive care units in the nation to have received the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence. Valley Children’s Hospital performs more than 12,000 pediatric surgeries a year and its pediatric and neonatal intensive care units have some of the lowest mortality rates in the country. Valley Children’s Cancer and Blood Diseases Center is a member of the nationally-recognized Children’s Oncology Group, and sees more than 120 new cases a year, and its Willson Heart Center has pioneered pediatric heart care for over 50 years.
Since its first horse show fundraiser in 1950, the La Feliz Guild has contributed over $3 million to the support and development of Valley Children’s Hospital. WJH is a proud supporter of La Feliz and Valley Children’s Hospital, and looks forward to many Derby Down events in the future.
